Dual plate check valves feature two
half-circle shaped discs or plates that are mounted on a central hinge pin within a valve body. The
discs are designed to open and close in response to fluid flow, allowing the fluid to flow in one
direction while preventing backflow in the opposite direction. When the forward flow of fluid occurs,
the discs are pushed open against the hinge, allowing the fluid to pass through the valve. However,
when the flow reverses or stops, the discs automatically close under the influence of gravity and/or
backpressure, preventing backflow.
